I remember they had those big plans to bring the German musical Rebecca by Michael Kunze over here in 2010, but it's obviously not happening. I know they hired Christopher Hampton to help ease with the translation, but
Any one know if there's a new timeline or were all the plans scraped?

Rumours are that it will open in London at the Palace Theatre when Pricilla moves out, but there is yet to be any confirmation...
EDIT: It seems that it was workshopped in London last year and producers are hoping to open in London prior to Broadway because it's cheaper.

I'm sorry, but unless they cast Patti or Orfeh, they'd BETTER get Susan Rigvava-Dumas over here to play Mrs. Danvers.
She is fiercer than FIERCE!!

I'm sure do hope they bring Susan, but it was Pia Douwes who was Danvers in the reading.
I definitely dont think Pia has anywhere near the vocal power having heard her English version of the title song...and she clearly doesnt have that final electifying note.
If Susan cant or wont do it on Bway, PLEASE bring Judy Kuhn back for the role!!

I'm actually ok with that! I can imagine her singing the role think she'd do very well with it, as long as she's careful with the vibrato.

I think Judy's voice is too soft for Mrs. Danvers, but I'd be open to her casting!
Pia's already performed on Broadway & the West End, does Susan (is she Danvers on the Vienna recording?) speak English first off, and secondly would they even be able to bring her over with all the AEA rules?
What about Jill Paice for "I"!
