MARTINEZ — The city has imposed financial reporting requirements on the struggling Willows Theatre Company, which owes the city more than $100,000.
Under a resolution the City Council approved Wednesday, the Willows must submit a copy of its annual budget, a current profit-and-loss statement and a current balance sheet within 15 days, and at regular intervals over the next five years. The theater company also must give the city a detailed business plan within 90 days.
The Willows also must renegotiate its contribution to the rent for the company's cabaret space — now set at annual increases tied to inflation — after two consecutive profitable quarters.
