i'm pretty sure they changed it a little while back. many playbills have turned black-and-white.

Because white is easier to sign.

I don't know.

Usually playbills only stay "in color" for a few months in the opening, and then changes to black & white. There are a few exceptions though (i.e. Wicked, Aida, etc.) but most long-running shows will eventually go to black and white to save money.

Aida's playbill near the end of its run was RIDICULOUS!

doooooooooooon't even get me started on that. I prayed until the very end that they'd change that thing back... at least for the last show.

Did they?

I though it should have at least had all three of them.

Heck, Deborah Cox didn't even play every show (as in her contract). (Even though she was very good.)

No; it had Deborah's picture on it until the end, just like they did for Toni and Michelle. And, I think from the beginning she was only schedule to do 6 shows a week. The three of them were, if I'm not mistaken. *shrug*

Sad this is, I only own ONE of the original playbills from when I actually saw the show. The other one I bought signed by the OBC at the BC/EFA flea market. <33

Here - this one, jmac. I couldn't upload a picture of the actual playbill, so I used that; same logo, though.

I loved that one.

I still wish I had a Playbill of the final cast. Evil bitch of a friend saw the show, KNEW to pick me up a Playbill (in exchange for me, like, writing her term paper for her) and didn't bother. I'm STILL angry.
