So yesturday I saw two shows, The Light in the Piazza and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I absolutely loved both. I won't be comparing them, because, well first because they are two totally different shows, and second because I hate comapring shows.
THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
This show was great and I was part fo a great audience and everyone really enjoyed it. I waited by the stage door before the show, which was the 2 performance, and got to talk with Kelli and Victoria. I have no complaints about the show. The sets and lighting were amazing, I love the box that rose with new scenery every time. The lighting was unbvelieveable. Matt Morrison was perfect in his role and his voice was clear and amzing. The audience loved "Pasagiata." (spl.) After the show, I met Kelli and Matt, Victoria didn't cvome out, to my knowledge, but I had to go from 65th to 51st to try to get SRO for Spelling Bee.
SPELLING BEE
This show was great. It was amazing how they each were so individual and how their characters were very well developed. My friend, who went with me to both shows, was aware that they were sick or having a bad night because there sound wasn't amazing. I thought it was astonishing, hahaha LW. The show is so hard to explain how great it is! As I was waiting for tickets on line, I saw Dan Fogler and he was nice. I got to meet the entire cast after, the only person who stormed away was Lisa Howard, the other cast meembers made fun of her for doing that because there were only like 10 people waiting. One of the spellers got every word correct and they tried to trick him by spellingit outloud, but incorrectly, but the guy caugh ton. They had to jsut say okay, you gotta go now because they ran out of words.
Out of the two, I'm not going to compare, but definately see Spelling Bee, it's the msot fun I've ever had at a show. Oh, also I didn' know all of the humor in Piazza, it was a great show... and a great day in the city!
