Riedel: B'WAY BUZZES ABOUT 'FELA!'

"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."
-Kad

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

For God's sake, please edit down that post!

And thank you, Michael Riedel: you have, for once, used your Super Gossip Powers to put a show on the radar.

I hope this show does well, and doesn't become "just a standard biotuner."

"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."
-Nellie McKay on the 2006 Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera, in which she played Polly Peachum

I might be the only one who enjoyed his choreography in SA, so I'm excited to see what he does.

I was really pissed this wasn't about "Most Happy Fella."

SOCIAL1- All seats $25 in lieu of $75 reg price

Studio 54 is booked this entire year.

There's no way this could play there this season. Next season maybe, but probably not this year...

Still, I would like to see this hit Broadway.

I don't know that Riedel has a legitimate source here, but I think this will do good things for the show.

I can't wait for this. Will be seeing on 9/13. Very happy to hear it's getting noticed.

I, too, loved his choreography in SA. Thought it was brilliant that it wasn't 'dancey'.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Aaaaaaaggghhh...I'm really happy "Fela!" is getting attention and could very well go as far as Broadway, but this article is just making me sadder that I can no longer see it on my trip. I had a ticket for Sunday 9/14 and then they decided to cancel Sunday evening shows. Oh well.

Here's hoping they become so successful that they tour.
