Cuccioli is the perfect choice to replace Page in this role. He can be dark and campy equally well. While I wish his return to Broadway would be in an original role I am thrilled that he will be back after an absence that was way too long.

I've had no interest in this show up until now.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Cuccioli has a hell of a set of pipes and can do comedy and drama equally well. This is good casting.

It really irritates me at times when people complain about an actor getting a paying job in these hard times. You dont know the person involved might think of the role, and what he thinks about it is irrelevant (as irrelevant as what you think of the role or show), either way its not like they are roles around that everyone can just pick and choose.

What's more embarrassing? Robert in the Spiderman show? Or being in Spiderman as Constantine Maroulis does Jekyll and Hyde

Please! An actor has just landed a steady gig playing the one scene-stealing character in a stably-performing show. Hate for the show's writing will never go out of style, but I don't see how this is much different than an established performer doing a stint in The Lion King or Wicked.

Does anyone realize the J/H show is a revival of a Wilhorne show?

A Wildhorne show being revived? Another sign of end times.

Did anyone see Sebastian Bach in the original J&H?

I haven't seen Robert Cuccioli in a Broadway show...but I did go see him in an off-Broadway play titled "Dietrich and Chevalier". He is enormously talented and has presence. from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

PattiLuponeFanatic - Cuccioli was amazing in J&H and was robbed of Tony IMO in 1997.

scarywarhol - Great point. I believe Cuccioli has not been back on Broadway since J&H which I find amazing considering his talent.

Mr Roxy - J&H was a pretty good show and believe it ran for over 1500 performances. Robert Cuccioli was nominated for Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. It was also the first time anybody saw Linda Eder on a Broadway stage.

My only complaint is I wish they gave him a bigger song to sing to show off his voice. Good for him - what a talent.
