Hey I need a solo rock song to sing for an audition, it does not have to be from a show but I would prefer it to be. Can anyone think of a female solo in a Broadway show with a rock type of feel to the music? Thanks!!!

Well...there are a few female songs in Rocky Horror and HAIR would have some good ones.

"Rock of Ages" from LEADER OF THE PACK

I would suggest The Acid Queen from The who's Tommy. Being that there are two versions of the song ( the one on the rock opera and the one that was used for the broadway show). The one that was used for the broadway show has moreof a broadway rock type feel. whereas the original one has a heavy rock feel. I suggest this one so you can use your judgment as to weather or not you want it to have a true rock sound or not

How about Take Me Or Leave Me from Rent? Easy To Be Hard from Hair is a rock power ballad.

As a director, if I hear one more version of "Take Me or Leave Me" at an audition, I won't be responsible for the headlines in the next day's newspapers.

"Two Gentlemen of Verona" does have a kick-ass score, and again speaking as a director, it would make a welcome change to hear something that hasn't been done to death like ANYTHING from "Rent."

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
