Would anyone who has seen this like to comment on it?

I was thinking of going and wondered what it is like

Thanks

I'd like to know as well. I'm planning on reading the book and then see the show.

The stage show almost IS the book. It's basically a one-man show (though some productions incorporate others as Minor Demons mainly for window dressing) in which Screwtape discusses the easy corruption of the modern human soul and chronicles his attempts to send a born-again Christian to damnation.

If you don't like discussions of philosophy or religion (I didn't say if you're not religious), you might want to skip this one- it's a dry, darkly funny and very cynical look at faith and corruption, and C.S. Lewis is one of, if not THE only major Christian author to write as a realist and not assume that all believers are either hypocrites or idealized perfect Jesus clones.

It was not for me, I was glad it only lasted 80 minutes.

Things I did not like, I had a hard time following the dialog, not sure if it was where I was sitting but the sound was awful. Story was not hard to follow, but did miss a few lines because of sound and it seemed the few lines I missed were the only ones that brought chuckles to the audience. Another thing that did not help was the moron sitting behind me who kept kicking the back of my seat. It was a long 80 minutes. LOL! Updated On: 7/12/10 at 12:53 PM

I had free tickets and was a little bored. Very bored to tell the truth. Maybe I've just been watching too many musicals and wasn't in the mood for something that deep. I don't think it made an exciting show but if you love the book then certainly go see it because from what I hear it's very true to it.

I really don't understand these reviews.

Stage Grade gave the show a B+. Here is the link to read more about it -https://www.stagegrade.com/productions/508#

Also Broadway world gave it a rave review. https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Photo_Flash_Opening_Night_Of_The_SCREWTAPE_LETTERS_20100518

I recommend the show to anyone loooking for a insightful sprititual message.
