I'm probably gonna get crucified for this, but, even though she's starring in a new Broadway show, why wasn't Sherie Renee Scott considered for Elphaba? She has one kick ass voice and would do the role some Justice. Does anyone agree with me on this?

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I haven't heard her outside of L5Y. But I am awating her role in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels re: Sherie Renee Scott - the second perfect Elphaba So I have no comment either way.

In my opinion she has not enough vocal power to do this role. I saw her in Aida and was a little bit disapointed.

Quasi, I suggest hearing "The Last 5 Years". She has amazing vocal power on that recording. Vocally, the role of Amneris is not that challenging.

I agree about Amneris... she sounds perfect in the role and she sounds perfect in L5Y as well... hopefully Dirty Rotten will give her the chance to relly shine... and get that dam Tony!!!

I think she would kickass as elaphba vocally, but the role of the wicked witch...i dunno just doesnt seem to suit her image.....but i would love to be proved wrong!

As much as I love Sherie, I don't see her in the role. Vocally and physically, there's something soft and sweet about her. Even when she's belting her lungs out, she's warm and fuzzy. Idina has a harder, more angular look to her that works for the role, and her voice has a steely edge.

Did anyone see the terrible movie Marci X, with Lisa Kudrow? Sherie has a supporting role--it's worth seeing just for her and Jane Krakowski, and to hear Lisa Kudrow try to rap.

I think she would be fab as Elphaba. At least if it were her, it wouldn't be Britney Spears or some other pop diva stealing the role from a deserving Broadway trooper. :)

I think Sherie would be fantastic as Elphaba. But there's also a big list of people in line for that role... Shoshana Bean (obviously), Eden Espinosa, Stephanie Block, Julia Murney, and the list goes on... We'll just have to see after Shosh finishes her run.

I think Sherie could do it, but as other people have mentioned, I'm really excited about her doing DRS and working with Norbert again. :) But apparently people in the casting industry think there are similarties (at least in vocal power) between her and Idina considering Sherie replaced Idina as Maureen in Rent and then Idina replaced Sherie's replacement in Aida... so I can see Sherie maybe playing Elphaba at some point.
