I mean, they don't really have to have fur, do they?
They can be fashion statements, can't they?
And what of helmets?

I think the outfits are sweet how they are. Abstract, and unique. Fur would just be tacky.

plum starts funny threads. I like how they examine the smallest things in broadway shows...like soccer balls...and now curly hair on monkeys? GENIUS

Well, Fabrizio2, given your namesake and all, do you think, by the by, that Piazza could add some winged monkeys to its cast? Flying around the inside of the Duomo?

Haha, this made me laugh :)

Do you think Michael Ball would make a good winged monkey in Wicked?
I'm only looking for serious and deliberate conjecture here, not some flimsy sarcasm suitable for 12-year-olds.

Well, Micheal Ball would look really cool like Chiestry. See when you first said that I was like ew fatness, and then I realized he was wearing a fat suit in WIW. I think that David Schwimmer would look cool as a flying monkey.

This is heady stuff.

yikes. Please no. But, maybe it will be his only choice after WIW....But you can see the monkey's butts when they fly over the audience. I don't think my heart could handle it.

Yes, curly hair is heady stuff.
Do you think Mr. Ball's agent would approve of him taking on a role in the winged monkey fleet (does one call a collection of monkeys a fleet?)

Do you suppose it would be a "gaggle" of winged monkeys?
Or, given the curly hair, a "herd?"
Let's see, it's a cast of hawks, a muster of peacocks, a congregation of plovers...

Hmm, a barrel of flying monkeys... Or should they wear little barrels? With wingholes? Updated On: 4/8/06 at 12:38 AM

Oh, nomdeplume, your mental prowess never ceases to astound me. Such a question you pose!
I have always been of the opinion that curly hair enhances every role. It gives the actor another level with which to ply his trade, adding subtlety to even the least understated of performances, as the tresses' rippling motions inform their character's very soul. What could be more moving than a perfectly tossed set of ringlets? I, myself have, upon occasions when time and humidity forbade my having an entire head of curls at my disposal, taken to curling just one lock, should an occasion arise in which I felt it necessary for my self-expression.
However, the winged monkeys of Wicked are, sadly, seldom seen and never heard. While curly hair would, of course, lend an air to the winged monkeys, curly hair is so frequently accompanied by astounding vocal prowess. In the case of an actor like the incomparable Michael Ball, it would seem a shame to have his curls seen and his voice not heard.
In conclusion, I know not the answer to your quandry.

Let's hear it for winged monkeys, onstage and otherwise.
(Is this just a joke on Ioana Alfonso's TV appearance last night?)
You make me laugh.

No, it is nothing TV related.
I do not keep a TV in the house.
If someone gives me one I generally give it away. I don't watch it. I'd rather see live theatre and opera anyday, and in NYC you can.
Though, I confess, I haven't seen Wicked yet.
I am so turned on right now.
