Thanks to Miss Abigail's Guide and its 5:00 Saturday performances, I was able to add a 10th show to my lineup next month. But it got me wondering, are there any other shows, on or off Broadway with weird schedules like that, which I can also squeeze into my schedule?

I don't know if it counts as theater, but I just found out that BLUE MAN GROUP has a Thursday show at 5:00 PM.

I'd also love to know about other shows with weird schedules!

There's a few off broadway/off-off broadway exhibition type shows that have 10 pm Friday and/or 10 pm Saturday shows. Naked Boys Singing (which is a show where pretty boys sing, often nude) and Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (more of an improv kind of thing from what I gather) both come to mind. A 10 pm show would be tough/impossible if you're seeing most broadway musicals but I guess it could be feasible if the earlier show is around 90 minutes and you don't have a long way to go between theaters (ie you're seeing something on 48th or 49th then going to New World Stages on 50th).

2010: Next to Normal (May 25), Hair (Jun 9), American Idiot (Sep 10), Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Sep 26), The Scottsboro Boys (Oct 17), Fela! (Nov 14), Next to Normal (Dec 30) 2011: That Championship Season (Feb 15), La Cage Aux Folles (Mar 16), The Book of Mormon (Mar 16), Anything Goes (Mar 30)

For those who were interested, I just got this via E-mail from the Players Theatre. NIGHTMARE ALLEY, a new musical out of the Geffen Playhouse in L.A., will have a two-week concert-style lunchtime (noon) run starting next Tuesday.

Ticketing -- http://www.goldstar.com/events/new-york-ny/nightmare-alley.html

The reviews out of Los Angeles weren't terrific

But it's something if you're really jonesing for a Thursday or Friday matinee!

it's not uncommon for certain shows to have sunday nights or monday shows. i know rock of ages has sunday night and mondays, they are dark wednesdays. american idiot has sunday nights and no wednesday matinee. billy elliot starts at 7.30 for most of their evening shows and they only have matinees on wednesday, with sunday night shows.

Thanks for your input, I think I just might check out NIGHTMARE ALLEY.

I also found out that DANNY & SYLVIA : THE DANNY KAYE MUSICAL has a Saturday 5:00PM show. Does anyone know if it's any good?

Any other suggestions?
