Shrek Review March 15th- 3 p.m.

Just got back and let me say, WHAT A SHOW! I thought that it was a great show, but it had some tiny flaws though. UNlike a lot of people, I liked the girls singing in front of the dragon. I thought though that some of the scene changes were kind of weird. When the dragon crashes into the window at the wedding, its kind of obvious that they are two different windows. Also, when Shrek does backflips, when sitting on the side, you can see a double of shrek because you see one like kneeling and then another one dancing while the trees are moving.

Brian d'Arcy James- Brilliant. Although he did mime the Shrek in the movie, he had great comedic moves and a great voice. the only problem was when he tried to sing a sad song(can't remember the name of the song) the voice of Shrek disappeared and his real singing showed.

Sutton Foster- She has so much talent and doesn't have the greatest amount of stage time. She had great comedic stops and she had a great dance number which I loved with a passion.

Christopher Sieber- Funny guy in the show. He had great singing and he had great characterization of Lord Farquaad. I thought it was funny when he actually had to stand on his feet instead of his knees. He must have some major padding under his knees.

Daniel Breaker- Better than Eddie Murphy's donkey in the film. He was really funny and had great chemistry with Brian.

John Tartaglia- Really amazing as Pinocchio. He sings extremely high and must have extreme vocal training in order to keep up with it. I'm still trying to figure out how his nose grows.

The ensemble members really brought the show to life. Haven Burton was amazing and was extremely nice at the stage door. Speaking of the stage door, the security guard is the collest one I have ever met. he was really cool and wasn't annoying like others. The ushers really ruined like the first 10 minutes of theshow because they kept on screaming at people having phones out. There was one usher in the orchestra that was a real bitch and was annoying the hell out of me. Besides that, the show was amazing and I'm going again in May so I'm excited for that..

I saw it yesterday and enjoyed it even more than I thought I would!
