::nods:: It makes sense to me.
I absolutely disagree with the notion of regional boards and will continue to post all my L.A. reviews/comments on the main board. I do not wish to see what is happening in my city ghettoized. A number of people from outside the L.A. area have expressed interest in what's going on here, and I prefer not to post on a site that is only visited by a small percentage of the BWW people. This is Broadway WORLD and that means not just New York, but anywhere that Broadway related shows are performed. Those uninterested in what's happening on the West coast need only scroll down to posts which interest them.

I think there's a lot of clutter on this board now that has absolutely nothing to do with regional reporting. That other theatre board (ATC) has a policy of not allowing polls. If this board would adopt that policy you'd eliminate 90% of the real trash that appears here. ("Your favorite...", "Your least favorite...", "The set you hate the most", "Your favorite costumes"......) It's all personal opinion and unless someone is willing to back up their opinion with some valid reasons, then it really means nothing.
I am interested in hearing about the shows in different cities and what his happening with some of my favorite theatre performers. I just won't go through dozens of different web sites to read about them. (Primarily because I don't have the time!) So I'm in complete agreement with eslgr8.
I'm in Chicago. I think the regional boards are fine. I have posted on the Chicago board about the actor here that was shot. Of course noone reads them but that is where it belongs now. It makes sense and it is easier to find things pertinent to Chicago. This is Broadway World not Chicago or LA world. My opinion only of course.
I have decided... now, I haven't posted any reviews on these boards yet, but if I do... I've decided that regional stuff that I see in PA (i.e. put on by groups like the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, which are only in Pittsburgh) I will review on the PA board... but for national tours (like Wicked... etc that is coming here this fall/winter) that other people besides those in PA may have seen I will post here. However I really don't care what other people do, if I see a regional review on the main board I'm not going to freak out, but I'm not going to necessarily read it either.
