I was sitting on the train today on my way home from school and there was this guy sitting with his little daughter on his lap and she was being somewhat fussy. He tried shushing her and calming her down, but she didn't. So he started singing to her. He started "Finale B" from "Rent". She was still a little fussy but she calmed down and he was just singing it softly to her. It was so... innocent. Like something from a movie. When he got to the "there's only us / there's only this" part I got kinda choked up, something I rarely do.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that.

*virtually sheds a tear*

That's a cute story. I tend to listen to Rent when I'm in a bad mood...especially the catchy songs like "Today 4U" and "La Vie Boheme."

I think the only thing that would've made that even more like something out of a movie would've been if people had joined in. re: Something that brought a tear to my eye

What a sweet story! Whenever I have a crappy day I listen/sing at the top of my lungs to Over The Moon to get rid of all of my frustration

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.

Theatre has moved me over the last few years more than I ever thought it could. I repeat mantras to other people that are themes from shows and they really help others out.

Then when they find out they're from Broadway, they'er all "That's Gay." I hate stupid people.

that is a really sweet story! haha when I babysit, and the baby starts to cry; I usually sing her a song and she stops. Before I saw Rent I would sing like Old McDonald and whatnot....then after I saw Rent I started singing Seasons of Love.

His singing voice was nice. Deep and manly, but you could tell he was trying to calm his daughter down. So it was soft. But he had a deep speaking voice.
