Posted: 1/28/06 at 10:02pmI'm a mezzo soprano with a good low range who needs a song that will work for both of these shows. Any ideas?

First of all, finding a song to fit both is going to be hard. Obviously, the two shows are different sides of the spectrum; "Sound of Music" being "traditional" and "Godspell" being "modern". Hopefully you can use different songs for each show's audition?
And a general rule of thumb, coming from a music director, pianist, audition accompianist, etc, stay away from bringing in (unless you ABSOLUTELY KNOW the person playing) any song by Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, or Stephen Schwartz. They're a &^#(@ to sight-read and not, as of yet, well known enough that people have played a lot of it.
Good luck! Lemma know if you have anymore questions!
