Being the mega Python fan that I am, I'm curious to know much of the show has been altered from the movie. I heard that the witch burning scene was cut, but are there any others? How do the new songs fit in (and what are they)? Also, I know Tim Curry is the only person who has 1 part, but what parts do the others have (for example, does Hank Azaria have all of John Cleese's roles)?
Spoilers are more than welcome
Thanks guys
Okay, from what I remember/previews...
I believe Hank Azaria has most/all of Cleese's roles (French Taunter, Tim the enchanter, Lancelot, a few others.)
DHP has most/some of Eric Idle's parts (Robin, Swallow/Coconut guy)
Christian Borle is all over the place, the minstrel, not dead Dad, the historian, and Prince Herbert among others.
Sieber has most/all of Palin's parts, I think. (and the Black Knight)
Steve Rosen does Terry Jones's parts as Bedevere and Dennis's Mother.
When I saw it in previews, there was none of the castle with all the women, the bridge crossing scene, and the ending whatever from the movie. In Chicago, there was the witch burning scene, which I guess is now cut.
The new songs are great, and every bit as irreverent as the movie. Song titles like "I'm not dead yet" and "Run away" should be no surprise to the Python fan. :)
Thank you MagicToDo82
So, no Castle Anthrax?
Does Galahad have a smaller part then?

The Castle Anthrax scene was cut (and I feel like something else was, but I don't remember what it is, at the moment).
The songs fit in like... well, anything in something related to Monty Python fits in. They don't, really, but nobody cares. Well, I shouldn't say that... for the most part, they start out having something to do with whatever's going on, but they do stop the "plot" cold, for their duration.
Anyway, the new songs are as follows:
The Fish Schlapping Song (not really "new," per say, but...)
King Arthur's Song
I Am Not Dead Yet
Come With Me
The Song That Goes Like This
All for One
The Song That Goes Like This (Reprise)
Find Your Grail
Run Away
Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (again: not really "new," but...)
You Won't Succeed on Broadway
The Diva's Lament
Where Are You?
Here Are You
His Name is Lancelot
I'm All Alone
The Song That Goes Like This (Reprise)
The Holy Grail
Find Your Grail Finale: Medley
-David Hyde Pierce is Sir Robin, Guard I and Brother Maynard
-Hank Azaria is a Knight of Ni, Tim the Enchanter, Sir Lancelot, and the French taunter
-Christian Borle is a historian, Not Dead Fred, a French guard, a minstrel, and Prince Herbert
-Michael McGrath is the mayor, Patsy, and Guard 2
-Christopher Sieber is Sir Gallahad, Dennis, the black knight, and Prince Herbert's father
-Steve Rosen is Dennis's mother, Sir Bedevere, and Concorde
-Sara Ramirez is the Lady of the Lake
If you want more information about the cast (the ensemble, etc.), just say so.
Edit: Whoops, a little late. XD Anyway, yes, Sir Gallahad's part is considerably smaller.

Thank you Elizabeth, just one thing I don't understand:
Christopher Sieber is Sir Dennis Gallahad?
Is that the same person?

Ah, crap. *Kicks self*
Yes, but don't tell anyone? Oops. Oh god, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-... crap.
Editing my post, now...
Ok, another question:
If there is no longer a witch burning scene, does Sir Bedevere just magically appear in time for the Trojan Bunny scene?
And at what point does the ending differ from the movie?

Basically. If my memory serves correctly, he appears during "All for One," and there's a voice-over thing, announcing him (or maybe the historian does it). This is well before the Trojan bunny scene, though (scene 7; the Trojan bunny scene is 11).
The ending differs from the movie... probably with the scene with the Knights of Ni (scene 2, in act 2).
Yeah, I've heard that
*spoiler*
Instead of a shrubbery, the Knights of Ni want Arthur to put on a Broadway musical
*end spoiler*
So how then do the Grail and the Killer Rabbit fit into that?
Thanks again for all your help

It's no problem.
Anyway
MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILER!
Behind the killer bunny-set-piece-thing, they find "A101" carved in a rock. At some point, the Lady of the Lake tells them that they've been on Broadway all along, and they find the grail in seat A101.
END SPOILER
Aha!
I'm sorry for the questions, it's just I don't think I'll be seeing it until at the earliest December
Thank you so much
