SF's very own version of "Spelling Bee" opened last night (I think this may be the first sit down version). Check the SF regional board for detials.
I saw it while in previews. Fantastic show. Seriously, the cast can give Broadway a run for its money.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm eager to see Joan Marcus' production photos (having taken them 2 weeks ago) because I'm unsatisfied by the itty-bitty ones the online newspapers are using to compliment their articles. Gimme some pro-shots!
Can't wait to see it again. Buy your tickets now, SF folk! It's an open-ended run, so let them know they can stay as long as they want in SF!

Hi...While I enjoyed the show, I think you liked is way much more than I did. Some amazing performances though. Some...well, give it time.
And there is a rush. Two hours before the show, they sell $25 tickets. No lottery. There was no line tonight for them (opening night) and they had plenty. They are great side orchestra seats. A fantastic way to see the show.
And I hope it does have a nice run.
Unlike usually expected, I didn't type a gigantic review of the show I saw...
If I had, you (and others) would know that what made my show particularly awesome, and therefore accounts for how much I liked it, was 2 little words:
MISTER RIDDLE
Also known as the audience member who got EVERY word written for the show. The guest who made all the actors bust up laughing, scrambling like mad to find words in the dictionary, threatening to kick him off stage, staring him down, and earning 15 minutes of straight applause and a standing ovation.
Yeah, the show I saw rocked. "You couldn't have seen a better show" said the cast afterward.
*teehee*
How was Greta Lee, the girl who plays Marcy Park? She graduated just last year from my school and was always phenomenal!
I will never forget Mr. Riddle. That man could spell!!!!
