Posted: 1/11/11 at 6:42pmThinking of seeing spiderman this weekend and the only thing i can find is second row in the balcony. Has anyone sat in the balcony? I hate to pay 104.50 and not be in the orchestra, but really want to see it, should I go for it?

I sat in the flying circle, so I'm not sure how the balcony exactly is. Spidey does fly as high as there a few times, so I think you will see all the flying aswell as the stage pretty well.
If you are willing to risk the cold, I would recommenced rushing. You would need to get there between 8-9:30ish but its so worth it for $30.00.

Posted: 1/11/11 at 8:30pmI've been in the orchestra and 1st row balcony and I have to say, honestly the balcony was a better seat. The view was perfect! Sure in the orchestra, you're closer but whenever there was flying, you'd have to awkwardly look up which got annoying. When you're in the balcony, you're in perfect view of all the flying stunts, you see the stage just fine and Spidey even lands on the balcony quite a few times. I definitely prefer the balcony for a show like this :)

Posted: 1/11/11 at 9:25pmI sat in the first row of the balcony 2 weeks ago. I could see the stage and actors just fine. I felt I missed a LOT of the flying as much of it takes place at the mezzanine level. I really felt that the balcony should be sold as obstructed view. I should have actually complained to the box office.

dramama- I felt the opposite. I sat in the balcony (I actually got it through rush), and while I normally don't like sitting in balconies for shows (I prefer orchestra or front mezz), I thought it was great for the show. I ended up all the way on the side (the last seat), which was partial view, but my friend, who sat one seat next to me, had a perfect view.
Just letting you know in advance, there's a two-fold to sitting on the left side of the balcony. Spiderman does "land" up there, but there are almost always crew up there, as the actors come in and out. Not to spoil it, but there's a long set-up where an actor comes from the balcony, and it's distracting.
