Okay, so last night I went to see The Producers a la Vegas. And you know what it wasn't that bad. Now, I never saw the broadway production but I have seen the original film and the not so great re-make musical. However, I did enjoy the production quite much despite the fact that it was cut from almost 3 hours down to 1 hour and 45 min. The first act pretty much remained in tact. The second was cut to shreds. The whole relationship with Ulla and Leo was pretty much cut completly out of the show, as well as Max's solilogy in Prison.

Now for the main reason a lot of people were there. David Hasselhoff. He was actually pretty good. I think letting him play a supporting role was a much better idea then if he were to play a lead. When he makes his entrance as Roger in that glamourus gown it was hysterical. He also sang the Springtime for Hitler song quite well. He looked like he was having a blast. Also, instead of him taking the last bow at the end. (being the main draw of the show) he let the last bows go to Brad Oscar and the dude playing Leo.

Despite the fact that this was a quick production, the performances were quite good. Brad Oscar was fantastic as Max. And as Ulla, Leigh Zimmerman really did make you want to give her a standing ovation sitting down. :)

So even though this is not the whole show. I do recommend it for anyone who never saw the full scale b'way production.
