Go past the box office, and continue down the steps...go out the glass doors, turn left toward 65th street and you'll find it. If you get confused, ask one of the theater employees.

If you are going this week, ask an usher or a security person what their procedures are. Most theaters have increased security during the RNC.

I should say that I'm not a fan of stage doors. I don't look for autographs or actors to talk to after the show because I feel that they've given me all they owe me by performing.

But if you are going to go, I think the following applies: DON'T go before the show in hopes of seeing them. Let them prepare for work and don't be rude.

And after the show...don't gush...be respectful and respect their time...don't keep them there talking endlessly.

I'm NOT saying you are planning to do otherwise. Just expressing an opinion. Also, be aware that Lane is not particularly comfortable with fans and may not be effusive and friendly as you might hope. That's just him. Don't take it personally. OR he may not come out at all while you are there.

i go before the shows all the time....the actors are just as happy to sign then, maybe even happier than after the show. in fact, i feel bad bothering them after the show for autographs and pictures. they just spent almost 3 hours performing their guts out and should be allowed to get home.

I don't go to the stage door before OR after the show but any number of performers will tell you that they do NOT prefer people to come before. They may not be in the mood to take the time afterwards because they are tired, but they are nearly always in a rush to get in and are focused on the show before.

Of course, it's your preference, but just because they are nice to you when you stop them, don't presume they PREFER that you come before the show.
