What have been your experiences at the stage door for New York City Opera's Pirates of Penzance? First of all, where is it, and secondly, do the principals come out and how long do they take? I see the show is scheduled to be 2 hours and 45 minutes according to their website, and I'm thinking about transportation issues.

Thanks!

The stage door for the NY State Theatre is on the 9th Avenue side of the building, opposite the restaurant that's under renovation, down a flight of stairs. I don't know if or when the performers use it (there are MANY ways in and out of the building), but that's where it is.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Actually, the street is Columbus Avenue at that point. Most of the cast do use that exit -- I was just there today, and saw most of the cast come out that exit, with the exception of Marc Kudish. Someone said Marc generally leaves pretty quickly, so he either left before I arrived there, did leave that way and I didn't recognize him, or he left by a different exit. Most of them were out in about 20 minutes, but one or two were a bit longer.

Like kec said, it's on Columbus Ave. Now, I saw the show last Sunday and all the cast memebers, including Marc, came out that exit. Most took about 20-25 minutes but Marc was a little longer and was out in 35-40 minutes. However, the show only ran for 2 hours and 30 minutes when I saw it.

It's a wonderful production. Enjoy!

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the advice. I'll try on Saturday (the last show) -- I hope they all come out!

Has anyone else tried the stage door?

i tried, I waited a while for Marc to come out. He came out in an hour. His motorcycle sits right by the staircase, so if you see it, then you're in the right area.

Hey everybody,
Thanks for all the great advice! The stage door was really easy to find based on your descriptions, and indeed most of the cast came out, including Marc (who was the person I wanted to see the most). He didn't come out for about 50 minutes, so I was glad to know that since his motorcycle was there, I knew he was still inside! Thanks again!
