Are they generally blocked or crowded by people/tables? Aside from PROMISES, I also planned on visiting A LIFE AN THE THEATRE and BBAJ.

Unless they've (wisely) decided to expand slightly to 45th Street, the Flea Market only takes over 44th and Shubert Alley.
If I remember correctly, the stage doors actually in Shubert Alley (Shubert/Memphis and Booth/Next to Normal) are essentially closed off to public access, and I don't think the actors will be doing any signing for those two shows after the Sunday matinee. Not sure about the rest of the theaters.
