Any form of an idea as to when they run out? I saw it Saturday night and I want my dad and brother to see it whenever the next time I go to New York is.

I loved Patti's interpretation, but here are some other ladies that I love to see take Mrs. Lovett on:

Victoria Clark
Ana Gasteyer
Cyndi Lauper
Mary Testa

I would love to see them do it as well, but as far as THIS interpretation of Lovett goes (Sally Bowles and sexy,) I can particularly see Ana Gasteyer and Cyndi Lauper doing it.

I'd also love to see Dee Hoty try it.

I saw Victoria Clark play Fraulein Kost in Cabaret, and she was really sexy in a rough scanky unwashed sort of way. She's a marvelous actress. She would really make this role her own. She's also a great belter.

Actually, I would love it if, instead of touring this show, they opened up limited sit-down productions in cities like Chicago, LA, and San Fran. Then each of these actresses could take the role on.

If Patti is leaving, wont it hurt the show as in ticket sales ectera? After all, IMO she is the one most people are going to see. Dont get me wrong I love all the cast members and no matter who was in it I'd see it seems like once she leaves then the production will fall and then once Michael leaves im thinking it may close.

Bernadette Peters would be simply amazing in this role.

As would Victoria Clark. Either way, I'd be a happy camper.

I hope the show continues to run without Patti, but it could never be the same without her.

I really think she might extend for awhile at least.

On her website(pattilupone.net) Patti says...
"The company of actor musicians is among the finest cast I have ever worked with. I hope it works out and Sweeney runs because I want to be on stage with these guys for a long time."

I absolutely love her interpretation of the role, but I'm willing to see others. ; )

I think that it will be very difficult to find replacements, because of the 4 demands of the role, and the instruments have to fit,
1. Acting
2. Singing
3. Dancing (little bit)
4. Instrument playing

It may just close after its contracts.
