Hey I just got an email from my theatre that if you're late to sweeney todd u can't get in for 30 minutes, not that i intend to be late but I was curious why they won't let u in for 30 minutes
In Doyle's production, the first applause break doesn't happen until after "Johanna." Without applause breaks, there's no appropriate time to seat latecomers, and so if you're late, they won't seat you until about forty minutes into the performance.

Is it the Doyle Tour? I think it's because there is no break till then and they don't want to interrupt the "action."

The music thing and that it's rude/disruptive to come in late. A few theatres do this.
It's not just your particular venue, it's been the policy for this production since it ran on Broadway.

Frankly I wish every show did this. Nothing worse than 20-30 people trooping in across the first act of a show.
