My friend is doing an audition for Sweet Charity on Broadway (and I don't know where it is, when it is, what's going on... so don't ask me...) and she's a fantastic dancer. She's... just not a singer. She was asking me about songs that she could sing... I was trying to think of something with a small range that she could really act... For her upbeat I was thinking "Always True to You (In My Fashion)" from "Kiss Me, Kate." What about her ballad? Remember... she is primarily a dancer who can hit the note... but doesn't have much tone quality.
Well considering the show is closing in a week....
Sorry I cant help, but isnt Sweet Charity closing on December 31? Why would they hold auditions? Are they doing a tour?
Anyway, best of luck to your friend.
Aha... dude, I have no idea... I just listen to what she says and try to help...
Maybe it was... a different show?
Meh...
On the official website there's a box that says something like: Sign Up for Info About the Tour.
Its touring and also could be touring the UK - Watch this space.
Well, then she has an audition for that... any suggestions? lol
I would suggest something that Roxie sings in CHICAGO.
Hmm this is a toughie.
"Send in the Clowns" from "A Little Night Music" or "Disneyland" from "Smile" for a ballad
Perhaps "Hernando's Hideaway" or "Steam Heat" from "The Pajama Game", or "Whatever Lola Wants" from "Damn Yankees".
