Today at work, we had this Sinatra impersonator (looked nothing like him, sounded like a bizzare mix of Sinatra and Judy Garland). And before each number he would give some backstory. Some of his more, bizzare facts were:
1) Before "New York, New York" he said it was written for the film version of "On the Town" and sung by Sinatra in the film. He proceeded to sing the Liza Minnelli one from the film "New York, New York"...
2) "This next one is from a Broadway musical currently revived called 'Phantom of the Opera'" - followed by a song from no musical I have EVER wittnessed.
3) "Scooby-dooby-doo" is perhaps the most famous lyric in the world...
4) This next one, sung originally by Sammy Davis, Jr in "Golden Rainbow" was his anthem. He proceeds to do Judy and Sammy's love child's version of "I'll Begin Again" from "Scrooge."
and my personal, personal favorite:
5) And now, a song from "Anything Goes" written by Oscar Hammerstien...
Four hours of stuff like that....

Oh please tell me you confronted him.
I HATE when people make up things, and then act like they're correct.

Julian-
I asked if I could, but my boss wouldn't let me. Stupid policies.

I work in an upscale grocery store, called Market Street, and once a month we have this big thing on Saturdays, with local impersonators and a big sale, and lots of demos and things like that.

Wow I'd never shop there! If they don't care if Hammerstein or Porter wrote Anything Goes, would they care if that "Lamb" was really goat?

Really, the store itself is fine, and of the grocery stores I've worked for, it's the best. But I tell ya, I will def. request off the next time Sinatra guy comes in.
LOL. wow.
