I know there is a cd coming out on March 23rd but is it the US release of the London recording or the Broadway Cast Recording?! I can't seem to find info on that anywhere so anyone knows for sure, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
it is the US release of the london recording..
NO DATE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED FOR THE BROADWAY ALBUM

I hope the Broadway cast recording comes out soon, I've heard that it may be coming out in April. I have the OLC recording already, I got it right after the Broadway production closed. If you don't have it yet, it's really good, it has a lot of the same songs from the Broadway production, and some ones that didn't make it to Broadway.
The Broadway cast album doesn't even have a label yet. There's been talk that Gene Simmons(KISS) might put it on his.

I don't know why George doesn't put it on his record label, More Protein. Anyone know why its having such a hard time finding a label, its got great songs!
if u read the info on the upcoming cd page for the taboo cast recording it saids label red ink BUT the taboo london cast was labeled by first night records so think....

I know Tony-anything is a long shot, but the score has the best shot at a nomination and it is VERY BAD PLANNING to postpone the release of the OBC until just days before the nominations are announced. They will have already been made and submitted by then. A CD reminder would not have hurt.
I loved Taboo, and admire Rosie immensely for sticking with her belief in the show, but her inexperience really DID contribute to it's downfall. The release of the CD early in the run would have been better promotion than any of the ill-fated marketing campaigns, as the score and the performances OF the score were the greatest selling points.
Water under the bridge and all that, I know, but this latest misadventure is just salt in the wounds. I hate to see the show completely overlooked, especially when there might have been a way to bring it back to the attention to the nominating committee. You'd think Rosie would have been "cleverer than that". ![]()

Oh Sun...you are so correct....the Recording should have been available during the run, & I mean early in the run (as it was it was only 100 perfs)
Anyways...I believe BOY GEORGE will get a nod for Score, & Euan for Best Actor, but at this point I worry Esparza & Liz will be overlooked
As for a Best Musical Nom....I wish....but doubt it
Thanking Rosie for bringing it to Broadway, but yes...her inexperience was stamped all over it

I agree that having the OCR out before the nominations are announced would increase TABOO's chances of getting recognition.
One thing to bear in mind: even if the CD is not in stores by then, it is still entirely possible that advance copies will be sent to the Tony nominating committee ahead of time for consideration. This is not an uncommon practice...I know last year NINE sent out a 3 or 4 song sampler to the voters (obviously the score was not eligible, but it brought attention to individual performers.) And AMOUR sent out a promo copy of the recording in advance of the nominations even though the official album release was not until July. Several years ago, THOU SHALT NOT sent out a special Tony consideration CD, even though the cast album did not get an official release until much later.
Of course, I have no idea if that IS the plan for TABOO, but I'm just keeping the faith that the nominators will have it in their hands early enough to remind them of how strong the score and performances were!

That's back to the "experienced producer" idea. Hope Rosie gets those CD's out!!!
Can't wait for the CD! The music is so beautiful!
