I would suggest that you (and others who are sympathetic) voice your opinions directly to Jujamcyn and to Paul. Personally, I think it would be best to keep the communication polite and respectful.

Actually, bring a little joy into some kid's lives for Christmas. I was bringing 6 kid's to the Grinch next week, they have never seen a Broadway show before. I can't tell you how dissapointed they are with this. The Grinch is a family/kids show, they don't care about unions and strikes. Is this the way it works on Broadway. A Producer creates a show and rents a theater, then the theater owner locks the door. SOUNDS LIKE A MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT TO ME.
COME ON PAUL LIBIN, STOP BEING A GRINCH AND UNLOCK THE DAM DOOR!!!

Posted: 11/20/07 at 1:38pmIt's a shame that of all the family musicals, it happened to "The Grinch". It certainly seems like the most interesting one to me, as "Mary Poppins" looks worse than the movie, I refuse to see "The Lion King", and the concept of Sherrie Renee Scott as Ursula doesn't really appeal to me. I really wish that this strike had happened at a different time of year.

Posted: 11/20/07 at 1:51pmThere are many shows in NYC that you can take the kids to. It may not have as big of budget, but you might teach your kids that theatre exists off broadway and sometimes it can even be better.

That's true. I stand corrected.
Sorry if I seem rather ignorant. I just haven't been on the Broadway scene long enough.

How these kids respond to a situation like this is largely based upon what they learn from watching how the adults react. If you make it a continued big deal...they will too. Surely there are a million other ways to "bring a little joy in to some kid's lives". Especially in Manhattan.
And surely they will not be without joy because they are not seeing The Grinch??

In place of THE GRINCH, may I suggest THE GAZILLION BUBBLES SHOW over at New World Stages (340 W. 50th St.) - Admittedly, I have yet to see it, but from what I gather, it's a great little piece; interactive and fun to watch! CHeck it out!
