"Fun with Dick and Jane." Hmmmm. Been off my radar for a while. Will have to look into this. The other films (except Rumor Has It) are all Oscar buzzed.

Where is Harry Potter 4?
I guess it's not considered to be opening this holiday season.
It was, I believe, the #1 anticipated film of fall.
This list only includes films opening in December, so therefore they don't consider RENT a "holiday film".
walk the line is off as well; i am sure that will get some oscar noms
Sorry, WALK THE LINE and RENT are both in the top 10 of highly anticipated FALL movies.
While I have yet to see RENT, WALK THE LINE is astounding, powerful, and the years best picture so far and by far.
memoirs of a geisha? is it really that much of a popular fare film? i thought it looked more art house. what determines this ranking?

Didn't know that The Producers is opening on my birthday! Yaaaaaay. Now, I can do something fun and skip school!
Or, I'll go to some theme park and get special perks.

im actually excited for "the lion the witch and the wardrobe" cuz in the 5th grade play, i played edmund (the mean boy) and had the only solo/singing chracter in the show...one of the best experiences in my life, considering the girl i liked was the white witch :)
okay, memory
edit: nevermind.

===================
The fact that the novel is an international bestseller determines it "popular fare." The parts of the film involving geisha training and performances might qualify as artsy, but ultimately 'Memoirs' is a more traditional Cinderella story. (as the trailers suggest)

well this is THEIR list, not ours. But yeah, Memoirs of a Geisha looks really cool.
LOL, well it's pretty much my list too with the order rearranged and a couple of films removed. There aren't ten December films I'm highly anticipating.

Yeah, I couldn't care less about King Kong, and I had no idea what Rumor Has It was until I looked it up on IMDB just now. What an idea.
But all The Dying Gaul had to say was that it's "modern noir" and I was hooked. I'm such a sucker for noir.
Is The Dying Gaul not having a nationwide release until next month? I think I remember seeing it on the marquee of the theater down the street. Peter Sarsgaard's involvement has me interested, but that hasn't been enough to get my butt in a seat for Flight Plan or Jarhead.
King Kong had the potential to just be a summer blockbuster like Jurassic Park, but it's set in the past (with amazing sets imo), is over three hours long and is directed by the guy responsible for the latest film to win eleven Academy Awards. Tom O'Neill at Goldderby is starting to tout it as a Best Picture contender.
