Is there any way of knowing what tickets will be available? I'm going to NY in a few days, and there are some shows I don't have tickets for and I don't know if I should buy them now or wait until the day of the performance for TKTS discount tickets...
I'm pretty much looking for just Lennon because I don't want to pay full price for a show that has been getting...mixed reviews. Are there any shows that almost always show up on TKTS? Thank you in advance!

Check out this website too... I hope to try this next week, and I don't care too much about the seating, so I hope it works out okay.

I've found that the 50% discount tickets at TKTS are generally the cruddy seats (example: yesterday I paid something like $48 for Hairspray at TKTS and was in row O of the Mezz) whereas when you buy discounted tickets online (with a code from broadwaybox.com, theatermania.com or playbill.com) you get good seats and the discount is often near 50% (e.g. Rent on broadwaybox.com).
The moral of the story? I find it's better to buy discounted tickets online (or over the phone - theatres are a bit funny sometimes if you try to use a discount code in person at the box office) because you often get a near 50% discount but with far better seats.
http://www.broadwaybox.com seems to be best for most comprehensive listings but most of the websites have similar discounts available.

The seats I had for Altar Boyz were good, as were FB:SVU. The seats I had for Sweet Charity were obstructed view. The seats I had for Fiddler were very rear orchestra. Seats I bought for Aida (a while ago) were rear mezz.
