Posted: 12/6/06 at 7:22pmI am seeing the Apple Tree on saturday at 2, what are the chances of Kristin Chenoweth and Brian D'arcy James being in?

Posted: 12/6/06 at 7:27pmI will be there on Saturday at 2 as well. No one knows what the chances are but since it is early and still in previews I have a good feeling they'll be in.

Posted: 12/6/06 at 7:37pmLet's face it, Chenoweth is the reason that a good number of people are seeing the show... so I'd say the chance of at least her being in is definite.

Posted: 12/6/06 at 8:10pmYeah she is listed in the program. I couldn't help but feel kinda bad for her, because I doubt that she'll ever get to perform.

Posted: 12/6/06 at 8:17pmI would say 99% (I am not saying 100 because there is a 1% chance she gets VERY ill)

If that happens, they would not perform the show at all. The show would be dark that day. Just like Michelle Federer for Julia Roberts in Three Days of Rain, Sarah Jane Everman will NOT* perform Kristin's roles at all.
*You'll notice I didn't say "never." That's because I'm following that old philosophy.

This is from the Mods at Glitter: The Kristin Chenoweth Fanclub:
"As stated in an earlier thread (with clarification):
For the record, anyone who buys tickets to the APPLE TREE WILL see Kristin in the role. There is no understudy for Kristin, which means that if she gets sick, the show goes dark. This is why there are no APPLE TREE performances on certain days to accomodate the preparation for, and aftermath of, the Met Concert Debut.
Thanks.
EDIT: slight clarification (as we realize we worded the above paragraph poorly.) As with any role, Kristin has a listed understudy for APPLE TREE. However, as with any production in which the production is banking on the popularity of its main headliner, APPLE TREE will (in the same vein as THREE DAYS OF RAIN and BOY FROM OZ) be going dark for Kristin's missed performances."
Also, like I said before, her picture is on the damn marquee!

Posted: 12/6/06 at 8:44pmI know they're banking on her to sell the show, it's pretty obvious....I just wouldn't compare her to the status of Julia Roberts or Hugh Jackman.

Posted: 12/6/06 at 9:19pmon that topic I'm seeing the show like a week before her concert at the Met. Will she be in?

Posted: 12/6/06 at 9:26pmSarah is there so if Kristen gets sick half way through the show, somebody is there who can cover the role, however she is not a normal cover.

Posted: 12/7/06 at 12:19amI'm seeing her performance the day after the Met concert...

jasobres, I find it difficult to believe that if Chenoweth gets the flu and is too sick to perform for several days or even a week or more (not unheard of) that the Roundabout is going to cancel that many performances.
Has she said something to suggest that if she gets too sick to perform, the show will be cancelled?
I'm sure everyone hopes that she'll miss no performances. But it's not as if she's never missed performances in the past.
One difference between this show and Three Days of Rain and The Boy From Oz is that this is a show being produced by a nonprofit theatre company. It seems possible that if she misses one or even two performances because of sickness, they might cancel. But if it went for longer than that because she had the flu or something, I can't believe they wouldn't start sending the understudy on.
