The Wiz - invited dress

A friend of mine in the ensemble invited me to the dress rehearsal last night. I had a blast. They stopped a couple of times to fix tech issues. I love getting to see dress rehearsals for this very reason. The show is a HUGE tech extravaganza. Lots of fun. The cast - especially Nikki James and Titus (?) are fantastic.

This is my first exposure to The Wiz. I've seen pieces of the movie years and years ago - so I'm not very familiar with a lot of it. Aside from some obvious "current" references, I couldn't really tell you what had been changed. I will say, I don't think the script - updated or not - is very strong. That being said...

Exciting show. Can't wait to see it again once they are up and running.
