The cast are talented but i really hated it.
The score was dull (it was over the top and campy which I normally love) it was not as witty as it could have been.
Sorry to say.
The woman who plays the lead Vivenne is very talented but she can not save this show. I wanted to leave in intermission the second act is much better then the first half.

But the rest of the shows are fab. I was most touched by Barbara Cook and I loved Ears On A Beatle. The stars had such chemistry and it was a great play. Daryl Roth strikes gold.
I also have to say i really love David Benoit in Forbidden Broadway he has the best voice in the cast. I love Forbidden Broadway so much. Updated On: 4/4/04 at 11:47 PM

I was only in NY for three days so I got to see four shows:

BOMBAY DREAMS--The first preview. I had a lot of fun. It has a weak book, but the energy and the music make up for it. Manu Narayan is sexy as hell to boot.

GYPSY--Bernadette Peters was fabulous. The understudy for Tammy Blanchard was even better as Louise.

RAISIN IN THE SUN--The three women are outstanding. The production is fine. Sean Combs needs work, but he's not a disaster.

ASSASSINS--Too many characters. The character of John Wilkes Booth gets too much dialogue. James Barbour and Jeffrey Kuhn are wasted in roles that should be cut. Denis O'Hare is giving a performance too much like his performance in TMO. The stuff between Oswald and Booth goes on way too long. Mario Cantone is highly entertaining. Mary Catherine Garrison and Becky Ann Baker provide the best (comic) moments of the productions. The songs are not particularly memorable. This is one I would like to see after previews to see if they fix any of the problems.

"Better" than what? Sounds fishy to me.
