How many times has a performance at the Tony's gotten a standing ovation. I was just wondering because I remembered Bernadette Peter's standing at the end of Rose'd Turn.(And she didnt win the Tony?! That is another topic though...)

No, she didn't win. Marissa Jaret Winokur won for Hairspray.

I know that The Lion King's performance of "Circle of Life" received a standing ovation in 1998.

Didn't the opening of the 1997 Tonys get a standing ovation, with Rosie O'Donnell and the casts of RENT, CATS, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE and BRING IN DA NOISE?
