Tony watching event or party?

We'll be in NY the night of the Tony's but can't get tickets to see the show live. So, we're looking for a Tony event or party somewhere in Manhattan (preferably mid-town) where we can watch the broadcast with other Broadway-obsessed people like ourselves. Am I just imagining such a thing or are there any events like this?

It is cheaper to go to a friends and watch it on TV. Personally,
if you can't see it live watching it in pajamas with your favorite food is always more fun.

Bamboo 52 is having a party and they are not charging anything except what you buy. That Broadwayspace party is a rip off.

Blondies is a whole in the wall. Disgusting greasy wings and finger foods. It is not worth $25 to watch it on a tv screen.

Many bars will have it on and wont charge anything to see it. Updated On: 5/15/10 at 01:31 AM

BAMBOO 52. They have cheap drinks and great sushi and there is no charge to watch the TONY AWARDS.

Last year, they had a feed to the large jumbo screen in Times Square, which was a fun way to watch the Tonys.

I'm fairly certain that West Bank Cafe (downstairs in the Laurie Beechman) does something as well. (42nd and 9th).

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

As far as gay bars go, I think The Townhouse shows the awards downstairs. We went there for martinis after we attended the awards in 2006 and there were people still down there. It's a little cramped though.
