I'm hoping to catch the show tomorrow, but I have yet to get tickets.
The buzz on the show is good, so I'm very surprised by the bad reviews. Of course, the review from The Toronto Star is from their second-string critic, Robert Crew, who also slammed TICK TICK BOOM. If you read his review for BAT BOY, most of his criticism falls on the material, which is odd since the material was acclaimed elsewhere. I just think Crew has conservative taste and didn't "get" the off-beat style of the musical. It's sad that the Toronto Star's first-string critic, Richard Ouzounian, didn't get to review the show; I usually agree with Ouzounian's opinion, and he has a more well-rounded knowledge of theatre (Crew is an "arts critic").
In any case, if I do see it tomorrow I'll post my views immediately.

I haven't seen it yet, but the word on the street is that the entire cast is very very sick right now. Don't know if that affected the reviews.
I did see Da Kink In My Hair last night at the PofWales. AMAZING. Go see it if you get a chance, I may post a review later.
I'm seeing Tick Tick Boom on Saturday....gotta love being back in the city for reading week!
