Hello all. How anybody ever tried a thread where people who saw a show recently, report if somebody was out? I must not be the only one who is curious about what understudies go on and how they do. For example, it can look something like...

I thought it might be an interesting thread to continually update. If this is a dumb idea, let me know. Just please be nice about it.

shannon durig will be out of spray 1/24 and 1/25, michelle dowdy will go on both shows. defiantly go see her!!

Ugh, Rue McClanahan should never have done wicked or a musical. She is very anti musical. she talks so bad about them. She does not think they are real acting

Thanks for the reports. Keep them coming! Tonight I will be seeing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for the first time. I'm guessing with a cast that size, SOMEBODY will be out tonight. I'll be sure to post the results.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Jan 24

BOTH Jonathan Pryce and Norbert Leo Butz are out tonight.

That is ridiculous. Pryce goes ONE whole week before missing a show. Needless to say, I'm holding on to my ticket for a Post Dated one. I figure any night has to be better than tonight.

No offense to the understudies, I would have stuck it out if Pryce would have been in. But losing both leads is unacceptable.

I read somewhere that Michael Ball was out of Woman in White again last night (1/24). Big shocker. I think I am more surprised when he goes on.

For today's (1/25) DRS matinee...

Jonathan Pryce, Sherie Rene Scott, and Joanna Gleason were OUT

Norbert was IN!

Last night's Jersey Boys (1/24):

Daniel Reichard was Out, Dominic Nolfi was In
Peter Gregus was Out, John Leone was In

They were both great. I've only heard Reichard on the cast recording, but Nolfi was REALLY good. You wouldn't have known he was the understudy.

Does anybody know ahead of time who's going to be out when?

I'm mostly worrying about the 4 main cast members of Jersey Boys (Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer, Christian Hoff, and John Lloyd Young), and Manoel Felciano from Sweeney Todd.

If people are posting on this thread, PLEASE list who went on instead. I am especially curious how much Norman Large has gone on for Michael Ball and how is Dennis Parlato as Lawrence in DRS.

Sorry Misto, but I didn't stick around to see the shows I've reported on. That is just from checking out the board. No idea of how they did. But I know that Joe Cassidy was on for Norbert on Tuesday night.

I saw Spelling Bee last week. Dan folger was out, and Todd Bonopone was on for him. This kid is hilarious! I would not have known he was the understudy, minus the lil piece of paper that gave it away. The energy between him and Celia, was outstanding.

I have also heard he is fantastic as Coneybear.

Brokenlizard14, as far as I know, Mano hasn't missed a single Sweeney Todd performance yet.

Don't know about Jersey Boys, though. Sorry.
