Ok, I have been here at the boards for about a month, and I highly respect and agree with most of your recommendations. So I have decided to come on here and ask all of you a question. I am going to New York in December and I'm wondering what two plays I should see. I need two plays to fill up my Sunday matinee and evening slots. All my other slots are full. The plays I have already seen on Broadway are: Doubt, Souvenir, The Odd Couple, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, Absurd Person Singular. So now I'm looking for two more plays to see, on or off broadway. I am going to try and see Dog Sees God at 10 on a Friday, but I don't know yet. So in a nutshell, what two plays should fill those slots.

P.S. Please, only plays. No musicals.

P.P.S. I have tickets to see The Woman in White on December 17 at 8 pm if anybody wants to buy them off me. I think they are pretty good seats. I don't want to see it because I'm more into plays now.

Well, dont sell your WiW tickets. It's a good show. Give it a chance.

The only two plays on Broadway you haven't seen now are Latinologues and Seascape. It's a slow season.

Ignore bad reviews. Go see "A Mother, A Daughter, and A Gun."
It's such a relevant controversy if you've ever been fed up with a parent or partner, or just life in general. It's funny, and serious. It has a good cast.

I agree with TheaterBaby. I've had people tell me that 'A Mother, A Doughter, and A Gun' is very good.

And don't sell your WiW tickets! It's a very, very good show and Michael Ball is well worth the price of admission.

Oh, and you guys can also recommed off broadway shows. I was leaning towards Seascape for the matinee and Miss Witherspoon for the evening.

Maybe take a chance and just see a play that interests you. People vary in opinion and just because a certain handful of people find comment on a play doenst mean you will have the same reaction. I recommend seeing whatever you feel like and enjoying the good and the bad!

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
