Was Jason Howard in SOUTH PACIFIC on Broadway/Tour?

Welsh National Opera baritone Jason Howard is alternating the role of Emile in the London production of South Pacific with Paulo Szot, but his website lists him as having played the role in 2009...did he play it on Broadway/US Tour?

Was he a cover? I don't believe he ever played the role regularly.

Curiouser and curiouser...his website says:

"In the winter of 2009, nineteen years after his performances of Ravenal in the RSC/Opera North production of Showboat he finally returns to the stage musical with performances of Emile de Beque in the Lincoln Center Theater production of South Pacific."

Interesting. He's not listed in any capacity on IBDB. Paulo Szot played Emile for most of the run, and was occasionally replaced by David Pittsinger or William Michals when he had to fulfill an opera commitment or was on vacation. However, I believe that Szot and Pittsinger were playing de Beque in the winter of 2009.

Maybe Howard was a cover and his name just never made it into the database? It happens.

He's doing the UK tour when it finishes it's short run in London.
