i was at the color purple with Oprah sitting behind me and it was crazy??? what about Beyonce when she saw "Aida" or Jessica Simspon when she attended "Rent" any witnesses???
Yes I was in the theatre, totally oblivious that she was there though!
oh...so it wasn't a big deal like when Oprah was at the theatre.
A lot of people probably didn't know she was there. Whenever a big celebrity like that has been at a show that i've been at, they usher her in after the lights go down and they jump up and go backstage or something before the lights come up for intermission. They did this with Antonio banderas at Chicago, Melanie Griffith at Nine, Sting at Nine, and several other people.
People probably didn't really know she was there.
That's exactly what happened when I saw Wicked in June when Usher attended the show. Just before curtain after the lights had gone done he walked across the middle aisle of the orchestra to his seat with a guard on each side.
i guess Oprah wanted the attention somehow. She could have arrived at the theatre a second after the lights go down.
Well Oprah's different - it's HER show.
I didnt even know until a few days later when i read on playbill that Britney had attended the performance on the 17th Nov and thats when i realised I also saw it then too!!
I really loved the show, its a shame its coming off.

When Yoko Ono was at Lennon she sat in front of me and I didnt realize it was her until I was wondering why this person had a body guard standing next to her at intermission. During intermission I realized it was her and at the end of the show she was escorted out of the theatre by the bodyguard.
You think seating them after the lights go down would be MORE attention getting...lol..I almost always look at people coming in late...
I guess I'm nosy that way :)

No, when the lights go down, no one's going to get up and run at them (hopefully).

i sat a couple of seats away from Vanessa Williams and Jai and Carson sat a couple rows behind me at Wicked
and jeff goldblum was at The Drowsy Chaperone while I was there the other day
Well, it probably would be easy to miss her. People were looking for this:
NOT this:
People must've known Oprah was there cos David Letterman walked her down to the theater. It was on TV and everything, so that wasn't very inconspicuous of her, now was it?
I was honestly just so darn excited that I actually got 7th row Orchestra tickets to Spamalot that I didn't care who else was in the audience. I generally pay more attention to what's going on (if I can see) in the wings or what the ushers or other employees (not to sound degrading) are doing...I find it all so fascinating.
(God, I'm a loser, aren't I?)
When I saw Color Purple, Gloria Estefan was there and she stayed for the entire show, no body guard or everything. Monday night I saw Die fledermaus at the Met and Joan Rivers was sitting down the row from me; she ducked out at the beginning of teh curtain call but there were no body guards or anything. I saw Michael Chiklis at Chitty w/ his family and he stayed for the entire show no bodyguards or anything. Finally, I saw Brooke Shields at DRS, and she stayed for the entire thing, no bodyguards.
omg Hannah I almost fell off my chair LMAO that was hilarious.

I was at Rent with Sporty Spice was there, if that counts as a celebrity.
Mel C is a big celebrity...she is a huge popstar and she sold 4 million records of her own cd ...plus being part of a group that was very successful...of course she is a celeb, and a great singer as well.
They're referring to the other nights Oprah was in attendance, not the obvious opening night.
I've seen Beyonce (and the other two DC girls) at a show, and Ricky Martin at another - both without anyone.
what show was DC seeing? and Ricky...and yes...i saw Oprah the night after the opening. She sat behind me-pic to prove it "fan photos"- LOL
Rickey and DC were both at BOMBAY DREAMS.
