"Big Spender" is one of the hottest, sizzling, flamethrowing Broadway musical numbers of all-time from "Sweet Charity." And tell me what do you think about the song really means to you?

What?
Whores...
It makes me think of Beverly D'Angelo dancing in just a towel for Chevy Chase.
Shawn, what's with the obnoxious screen name?

It makes me think of sluts. Loose women who are going to spend eternity in the bowels of hell for their loose and whorish ways.
GOD IS NOT MOCKED!
It makes me think of big daddies with lots of money that I would never consider being with in real life, but when they wave their money in my face I might consider it.
Calvin, I think of the exact same thing! I love that movie!
My early twenties.
I was only 7 years old when it was out in theaters, but my dad took me anyway (and got in trouble with my mom for it later, as there were some fairly risque scenes, like the Paris strip club). But that really was the first time I ever heard Big Spender.
I just quoted the title last night to a friend when she told me her pittance for a summer of bitch work.

I'm with Steve2 - I think of Edie Adams singing "Hey Big Spender - spend a little dime on me"

It makes me think of how brilliant Bob Fosse's original staging was. With minimal movement, he made those girls sell that song and put it over the top.

Above the old Howard Johnson's on B'way and 46th there was a neon sign about women dancing, (the sign was there long after the joint closed, maybe someone has a pic).
As a teenager I was a great wanderer around the Theatre District, still am, but it wasn't till I saw the Amazing Gwen Verdon in Fosse's brilliant production of SWEEY CHARITY that I even gave a thought to what those women did.
So I decided to find out for myself, I was tall but also young looking but I had no trouble getting in, as I ascended the stairs I past a womam wearing gobs of make-upand smelling of what I imagined was sex.
Scared the sh*t out of me and then she touched me, and I went running sown the stairs and the first bus back to Jersey.
I mean, she was nothing like Gwen!!!

So, now do you go lap dancing regularly?
No, I just drink.
