What the...?#0

The following is from the Ask Edward section for Avenue Q on Broadway.com.

What are the appropriate ages for Avenue Q?
Although Avenue Q is a fun and exciting new musical, be aware that it contains adult themes, strong language and sexual situations (*depicted by puppets!*). Best for *children twelve and above*.

Does anyone else think that this response sounds kind of strange out of context?

Maybe 14 or above...12 is a little young, but it is all up to the parent and the maturity of the kid.

I don't think I'd take a 12-year-old to see that show.... I'd probably take a 14-year-old though. By that age they should be able to handle it, but it depends on the kid.

I'd even say 15. I think that the people who would understand it the most are the people that have passed the college age, or the people close to going to college (they know what to look forward to! Or not!).

I saw that, and I was like "Ehh....12?" When I went, it looked like I was one of the youngest there, and I'm 16. Ah well.

hmmm... you're right Lady Guenevere. I'm almost 18, but I think I was among the youngest there.

Seeing young children enjoying the show actually kinda scares me about the future of the children in the US.

Oh well, it's done for already.

It depends on the person. I think 12 is young, though. It's too bad people might rely on a site like that & take their children to see it when they shouldn't.
