What to wear for my first opening night

I am going to THE DROWSY CHAPERONE's opening night tonight (don't get excited, I'm sitting in the balcony). Do men still wear black tie to Broadway openings? Will I look like a fool if I do? Or is a suit more customary these days?

I wore a suit to opening night of The Woman in White. I think a tux would be too much...

Just wear a dark suit and a dark tie and you'll blend in beautifully.

I wore my suit to opening night for "Three Days of Rain." I didn't see any tuxedos.

I've seen everything from tux and ball gowns to suits and 'Sunday best'. Wear what you feel good in. Are you going to DC?. I'll be there.

Anything reasonably smart but comfortable. Remember, you are not there for the audience or for the creative team - you are there for yourself.

Tuxes are out of fashion in general for Broadway 1st nights. But as someone else pointed out, for this show in particular a tux might be fun. I'm going tonight also, and I'll opt for a dark suit. But if I had any guts...I'd wear a tux! Hell, I'd wear tails!
