Both their sitcoms were cancelled today. Is it inevitable they'll have a "limited engagement" return?
I love them and I love that show, but please, god, no.

BOTH shows?!?!? Jesus!
Well both shows were terrible so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

1600 Penn was more or less canceled before it even premiered.
Andrew Rannells still has "GIRLS," for what that's worth. Perhaps he will replace Zachary Quinto as "media darling gay actor" on "American Horror Story" this season... which would be a great boost for Rannells, as critics tend to prefer AHS to GIRLS. Still, Rannels is no Quinto.
I'd prefer Rannells move back to GIRLS.
I liked Andrew Rannells on Girls. I fully support any project that requires him to get naked more often.

it's not like Mormon needs them to return. it's still selling out. of course, if either one wanted to return, I'm sure they'd be allowed back.
If timing worked out, I'm sure they would be offered contracts -- but as you said, it's not like sales are hurting without them. Them returning wouldn't do anything but make the lottery and SRO line bigger.
I think Matt Doyle only had a 6 month contract -- would they oust him for Rannells? (Of course, I don't know if Doyle WANTS to stay OR if Rannells WANTS to return)

I thought The New Normal was a poor show, but I'm surprised it's been canceled. There seemed to be enough of a positive buzz surrounding it to keep it afloat in a season when NBC had so many out-and-out flops. Did its ratings decrease steadily throughout the season?
A friend who liked the show got me to give it another chance in February, but the episode we watched ended up making him see how weak it was, too.

"Did its ratings decrease steadily throughout the season? "
Pretty much. Tuesday night became a sink hole after The Voice returned. NBC would see high numbers for that and then the numbers would decline for Go On, and slide even further for The New Normal, until they got to the ratings black hole of Smash.
So does this mean NeNe will be on the Real Housewives again?

Nene never left the Housewives. She's repeatedly said she has no plans to leave.

Really? Where?

I thought I read that he quit Girls to focus on The New Normal. Maybe they will welcome him back, though.
