When will "Phantom" pass "Cats" as the longest running Broadway show???

Does anyone know the exact performance date of when "The Phantom of the Opera" will pass "Cats" as the longest running show on Broadway?

I had heard that it will be sometime in January!!!???

I did the math once, if I can remember, the matinee performance on January 11th will be number 7,486 and will make Phantom in 1st place.

Wonder if it will reach 20 years, anyone think it will??

Just 2 and a half more years about until Jan 2008 and it'll be goin for 20 years... which is pretty damn long. What's the longest other musicals have run straight? Les Miserables was what... 1985 - 2003, so ALMOST 20 years. Cats was over 15, but not 20... right?

I dunno... but Phantom seems to be goin strong. Go Phantom go!

so cats was 18 years like les mis.... how many performances did les mis have tho?? I will most likely search, but why not ask on this post first...

So Phantom might be the first to reach the 20 year mark, we'll see though.

And speaking of 20 year kinda stuff, why didn't les mis do anything? I mean they had the 10 year anniversary, they shoulda done 20th this year or something. Ah i dunno.

The 10th Anniversary of Les Mis was celebrated from the date it opened in LONDON, NOT Broadway, and it's still running in London so this year is it's 20th Anniversary. Rumor is they will be doing something next year instead.

i am so happy Phantom will pass Cats. (i'm not too fond of that musical) anyway, yay!
And i cant wait to see Phantom for my 4th time on the 24th!
Love that musical and story and everything that has to do ith it...im totally obsessed!

My friend's uncle is stage manager for Phantom, and according to her uncle they are have big plans already in rehersal for the record breakine performance. Hopefully my friend will invite me to go...
