Where is CABARETHED from Broadway.com?

I was just wondering, I know most Broadway.com-er's are here now, but did CABARETHED make the move as well? Just curious...not obsessing. She just seemed really nice and down to earth.

I've kinda wondered about her too. I'd love to know what she thinks about the new cast.

Aw! *blushes* Yes I did make the move, I've just been lurking for a little while. Thanks for thinking of me.

I can't wait to see Melina...just seeing her on Regis & Kelly (or Simon and Kelly as that day would have it) fueled this. From what I've inferred, she's playing the role exactly how I thought she would- kind of a Natasha Richardson/Joely Fisher type.
I saw the show last week, for the first time since April (yeah, it had been quite awhile, too long in fact). I didn't wait till Melina jumped on board, primarily b/c Heather Laws had 10 days in the role and I love her to pieces. Unfortunately, Liz McConahay (the new Frl Kost who I've been told I'm going to LOVE) was out that night. I only wish I could say the same about one Jon Secada. Obviously this is just my opinion, but the man was positively wretched. Anyone from the previous board remember my hatred of John Stamos' portrayal? Yeah, well, Stamos is an award winner compared to this man. There, I've actually said it....this is bad. Maybe I'll start a thread on him soon. It's such a shame b/c Neil Patrick Harris was absolutely wonderful. It's also a shame that I had a prime aisle seat at table 301, and Secada was the first Emcee to make contact with me during Don't Tell Mama in two years. Ugh. Ugh. He didn't just touch my unfortunately bare arm as he passed, he caressed it and then turned around to give me a scary smile and "seductive" wave.
Other than that and Tom Bosley's one note performance, the show is in great shape!

I was really impressed by Patrick Harris when I saw him too. I think John Stamos is a good leading man (did the best he could after Broderick in H2$, and wasn't bad) but I thought he was miscast in the Emcee (though I didn't see it). I would have liked to have seen Butz or Esparza (sp?). And I have seen Liz in many shows and she sings like a belter's dream. Huge voice, almost no break, belts notes high enough for even Rudetsky. She also has a legit top she can use which sounds musical theater and not opera. She is a major vocal talent, it would be interesting to see how she plays Kost, who has some challenges in the scenework.

I saw Jon Secada and Deborah Gibson. Both were excellent!

Raul Esparza was more than fantastic. His performance was so creepy (in a good way) that when he crouched on the second level of the stage in the first act I kind of cringed in my seat. What really freaked me out was when I could have sworn he looked right at me. I of course, being bashful, looked away right away. Then looked back up, and he was still looking at me...EEK! Talk about a magnetic performer. Heather Laws understudied Molly Ringwald...Heather was phenomenal. Great voice. Updated On: 6/29/03 at 08:48 PM

A creepy touch, hmm? I wouldn't want him touching me, either!

I didn't get to see Heather Laws when I was there in March (I wish I had!), but did see Deborah Gibson. I thought she actually did a good job. Neil was outstanding. I want to go back and see it again!

I really enjoyed Deborah too! It was so refreshing to see a Sally with personality after Ms. Ringwald. She wasn't one of my favorites, but she gave a good show. If you ever do get a chance to see Heather, you won't regret it. Neil was just wonderful! I'm so sad I couldn't see him more. Both he and Deborah were just angels at the stage door. I miss him already!

Raul Esparza man...I've been thinking about it, and though I haven't seen all the Broadway Emcees live (meaning Cumming, Sella, Hall, and a couple u/s) and none from the tour (except u/s Derek Isetti), I've had my, ahem, ways of seeing them. My favorite is Matt McGrath, as many know!, but I'm firmly believing that if one couldn't see the definitive Emcee of Alan Cumming, then Raul is the one you should've seen. He just nailed every last aspect of it. I ended up seeing him the most out of anyone, thanks to two runs, and I just can't say enough glowing things about him.

I always wanted to see Molly as Sally. It just wasn't meant to be I suppose. I would have liked to see Brooke Shields (though I heard I didn't miss a whole lot,) Jane Leeves, and the original and best...Natasha Richardson.

oh Cabarethed, me too. I loved Matt McGrath. I did not see Alan Cummings but I find him very odd looking. He does nothing for me. That show was also with Brooke Shields who did an
"adequate" job. The second time, I was told Matt was going to be in it when I bought the tickets and he was not. Raul Esparanza was starring but we saw the u/s Vance Avery who had nothing of the charm and magetism of Matt. Gina Gershon was Sally Bowles. I am waiting for some performers that I like to come into the show. I definitely want to see it again. Maybe we will go in for same day tickets.....!!!!! Do you know what Matt is up too?

I didn't see Gina live..but..eh, I heard she was good. Yeah that's it..I heard. Anyway I really enjoyed her performance up until the title number. She acted very sedate and almost high I guess due to the abortion, etc. But I think Gina took it to the extremes with it and actually kind of annoyed me by the end of the song. But, atleast she made the role her own and put her own spin on it. Much like Bernadette is doing w/ Gypsy.

PJ, Gina didn't act like that during her first run. It kinda took me aback and I didn't really like it too much. She acted really high and melodramatic for much of the performance :-/

Broadwaylady, I love that you loved Matt! Brooke...ehhh....haha. She really did try hard though. I'm sorry you couldn't see Raul! I don't really know what Matt's up to now, he's so elusive. I just know what the sites tell me, and he did a workshop a couple months ago, and was in a play this past winter.

Too bad our Matt is elusive. I would love to see him in another show. He was recently in an Off Broadway production but did not hear about it unti after it closed. Drats......Very talented fellow. I wonder if he will ever come back to Cabaret?

I doubt it re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Where is CABARETHED from Broadway.com? I heard he was sick a lot during his run, and he's the Emcee who got the boniest by the end of the run :-/ Looks back to his old self though, so I'd like to keep it that way!

I saw the original (revival) cast and LOVED it! Both Alan Cumming and Natasha Richardson were dynamite.

I saw the show again with Neil Patrick Harris and Heather Laws. NPH blew me away. I didn't expect him to be so terrific. Heather Laws was also great.

I did see John Stamos in H2$ and he was almost embarassing. I heard nightmares about his MC. Not really surprised about Jon Secada being less that fabulous. Why do you think they cast him? Does he have a large following? Who is he? Some pop star? One-hit-wonder? It seems that there must be a better choice out there...
