Absolutely not. The revival is the most complete recording there is. It includes all instrumental segments and dance breaks that the original does not. Get both - because while the original has great performances and THE RUMOR, the revival cast sounds better and is very complete.

Posted: 11/9/05 at 5:33pmEven tho' the new recording is more complete, I still find myself returning to the origial broadway cast for the brilliance and freshness of the performances. The new recording is rather dull and several of the performaces are not very good. So..... if it is a matter of either/or (money etc) I would go with the OBC.
