Posted: 5/14/06 at 4:37pmI LOVE the show! I was in it as Toad! Was it a flop? Beautiful score,Fantastic actors,Funny book,A show you can actually take your kids to...What else could you want from a musical?

I love the show!! great, very cute score. I wish it had lasted longer. I know that I didn't like the selection for the tonys. I felt it didn't showcase the show at all, even though it is very pretty. they should have picked something more lively.
but the show is so much fun. Where did you play it?
I also don't know if it was a limited run, or if it just didn't sell well. anyone have that answer?

I did it in AL! I`m from MS but I`ve done theater in MS,AL,FL,and SC!!!!!!! I just moved to NYC but it`s hard up here! Wish me luck!
What were the nominations for the show? It should`ve won best set design for sure!

Posted: 5/14/06 at 4:48pmI saw this show during it's extremely short run the day Les Miz closed. I thought the second act had some SERIOUS pacing problems, but overall, the show was worth seeing. It closed because the top price ticket was $95, and if you plan to bring your whole family at that price it would cost a lot of money to go, so it was the pricing that made the show fail. That's how I see it. (I saw it for $35 each by the way.)

I loved it. I went twice. The Cookie song was so cute. I wish it would come back to an Off Broadway house.

Posted: 5/14/06 at 6:10pmI love Frog and Toad! I've never seen it but I did it in Minneapolis with several of the original cast members. It's such a sweet, simple little show. I'm always pushing the cast album on people and saying "Listen to this!!" because it's a great score and doesn't get enough exposure!

After the Broadway run, the OBC came back to the Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis (where it originated) do to a 2 month holiday stint. There were two casts because CTC does 10-12 shows a week during the holidays, and the OBC couldn't do them ALL, so my cast went on 3-5 times per week, and we also understudied their cast and vice versa. (And we rehearsed with them, too.)
So... it was Mark Linn-Baker, Jay Goede, Danielle Ferland, Frank Vlastnik (sp) and Sarah Litzsinger. (Kate Rienders was doing Good Vibrations at the time.)

The songs are all SOOOO freaking cute.

Posted: 5/14/06 at 7:30pmThe show is awesome for a younger audience. I liked the music a lot and wish that our college had put it on for the summer show instead of Charlotte's Web. I think it didn't last on Broadway because family oriented shows like that usually do better on tour as opposed to on Broadway. But it was nice to see something that was written so that kids could get into the spirit of a musical.

Mark Linn Baker was very pleasant to work with. Very professional, a nice guy, very devoted to his family. I didn't get to know him much, i was 22 and just out of college (i was doing Danielle Ferland's track) so it's not like we shared a dressing room space or anything, but he was always very kind to me.
