Posted: 7/12/05 at 4:25pmThis is an amazing role and he is brilliant in it, why is he leaving so early? He stayed with Hairspray longer than he is with Piazza. I thought everyone was going to stay through January. Did he get another job? It won't be the same without him. Has anyone seen his understudy (or whoever is going to be replacing him)?

Gee. Why is he leaving?
There are millions of reasons actors leave projects. Maybe the extensions caused a scheduling conflict. Maybe he wants to go do something else.
Honestly, it happens, and you have to deal with it. I'm sure someone can fill his shoes, fantastic as he is. The show is in fantastic hands, all around that cast. Don't be so accusatory; the guy has a career to pursue.

Please remember that when Matt signed on for PIAZZA, it was a limited run. The engagement was extended twice and Matt probably has a previous committment.
Matt's one of the nicest people on the face of the earth, but he is also career driven. Let's wish him well.

Matt is one of the few Broadway actors that I have met and he was very nice.
Of course, our RobbieJ is a star that I know only through cyberspace!!!!
