IIRC it was supposed to be with Lucie Arnaz but I thought it was cancelled because no cities were booking it

It's playing in Huntsville, unless it was canceled and they have yet to put anything new up, but they just put that up in July.

I found someplace on the web that showed a couple of Florida stops. I have tickets for it at the State Theatre in Ithaca, NY on November 11th. Two other shows stopping in Ithaca are I Love You, You're Perfect.... and in May of 2007 Urban Cowboy.

This 'thing' will be playing for one-night-only at the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday 12/15/06. Since it's a one-nighter, I doubt it's any kind of Equity Tour -- it isn't even listed on Broadway Across America or even on the Broward Center's Broadway Series schedule. From all the lack of publicity surrounding it, I highly doubt it's anything related to the recent concert-style Broadway revival.

It has the same logo as the recent Broadway revival. It was done in a concert style? I didn't know that. Explain?

The show on Broadway had the orchestra on top of the stage, but it wasn't a concert. I wonder if I'll enjoy this production without Brooke, Jennifer and Gregg.

That doesn't mean anything. Broadway Across America is actually Clear Channel-owned and/or booked venues (or whatever it's called now, the theatre division broke away). If a show isn't booked into any of these venues, it won't show up in their list of shows.

Oh okay, well that doesn't make it a concert version, but whatever. I'm sort of intrigued to see this show. I sent an email to the people in charge of our "Broadway Across America" and I'll let you know when he replies.

Nobody said it was a concert version, it was concert style because it transferred from Encores! which had a very minimalist concert-like staging (notice the word "like" after concert). It was a great production indeed critically praised with the two leading ladies that played Ruth throughout the run (Murphy making the role her own and attacking it as if it had been written for her, Shields a fine replacement), highly underrated by the public. If Lucie Arnez were to star in the touring production I doubt she'd be able to match Murphy's performance (or even Shields). Does anybody know who is behind the creative team and cast?

Geez, why would you make a statement like that. I've seen Arnaz do the role in L.A. and Murphy at both Encores and in the Broadway production. Arnaz was great and just as enjoyable as Murphy.In fact she's always garnered excellent reviews in everything she's been in...."SeeSaw", "Annie Get your Gun", "My One and Only" and "They're Playing Our Song".The woman is a seasoned performer. In fact listen to her voice on the latter and then listen to Shields singing. There's NO comparison as to who is an accomplished singer and who just gets by.

It was done as a concert version a few years back with Audra McDoanld. The dvd is available.
